Małgorzata Szczotka-Kida is a graduate of the Faculty of Law at the University of Wroclaw and Maastricht University, the Netherlands (LL.M. in Corporate and Commercial Law). She also completed postgraduate studies in Competition Law at the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. In the years 2015-2018, she was entered on the list of advocates of the National Bar Association. Since 2018, she has been practicing as a legal adviser (attorney at law).
Before joining WPW, Malgorzata worked for Olesiński i Wspólnicy Sp.k. (2010-2017) and FKA Furtek Komosa Aleksandrowicz in Warsaw, currently a part of Andersen Polska (2017-2018).
Malgorzata specialises in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, as well as corporate restructuring projects. She has experience in the processes of creating capital structures, negotiating shareholders’ agreements, investment agreements, joint-venture agreements, as well as in the processes of mergers, divisions and transformations of companies, including those involving public companies. She advises the Clients in the field of competition law and legal aspects of the creation and operation of Alternative Investment Companies.
At WPW, she also advises private clients in the area of succession of private property and business.
Before joining WPW she has worked for many clients from the financial sector in banking and finance projects, which included drafting and negotiating loan agreements, security packages and agreements related to financial intermediation services (banking and leasing products), as well as rendered legal advisory on bankruptcy and restructuring matters.
